Although we know several of the main MacGyver cast are filming on movie and tv projects, they have been rather absent on social media the last few weeks.

The Abandons with Lucas Till
Filming for Netflix western series The Abandons has started. As part of their Upfronts, Netflix had a First Look Presentation event for May 23, and we actually got two official group photos of the main cast. Sadly, there hasn’t been much BtS material and no photo yet of the cast in their character costume.
Season 1 of The Abandons was officially announced as being 10 episodes long. But in a recent podcast interview, showrunner Kurt Sutter mentioned that they shortened it down to 8 episodes. This means filming will probably conclude before October 18 (which has been initially set as end date).
Bad Boys: Ride or Die with Levy Tran
The 4th of the Bad Boys movies premiered on June 7 in the US. The movie was partially filmed in Georgia and Florida; and some of the crew and several stunt people also worked on the MacGyver Reboot. While the movie got several carpet premieres and a full promo circuit, Levy wasn’t part of it. So far, she hasn’t promoted the movie on her Instagram account, either – even though it got overall good reviews.
What are Cast and Crew up to?
Most of the main cast stopped posting regularly on social media or even deactivated their accounts. But there have been hints about some main cast members being involved in upcoming projects:
- Henry Ian Cusick is attached to an episode of Butterfly, an Amazon TV series consisting of 6 episodes for Season 1. He also filmed an episode for 911: Lone Star and will be the narrator of the audiobook version of novel Caretaker.
- Tristin Mays mentioned in a recent cameo video that she’s currently filming something in Atlanta; showing a location behind her that has been used in several episodes of the MacGyver Reboot.
- Levy Tran was tagged twice in Instagram posts regarding action comedy Trouble Man, which was filmed in Atlanta last November.
Tristin recently did a podcast interview for Mic’d Up, talking about working on MacGyver and how the crew had been preparing her to direct an episode before the show got cancelled. She also mentioned that she keeps her relationship private because of people in the industry not wanting to even talk business with her when they know she’s not single.
Meredith Eaton posted a selfie with fellow actress Pauley Perrette (NCIS) while attending a concert on May 30.
Wedding and Baby confirmation for Lucas Till
Dropping little nuggets here and there, Skyler Samuels confirmed that she and Lucas Till have not just tied the knot, but also welcomed their first child recently. She did post an Instagram story of the baby from behind; and Lucas has been flashing a gold ring in one of The Abandons cast photos.
We might get some more information when she starts promo for her upcoming Aurora Teagarden movies. So far, Hallmark hasn’t set a release date yet.
